As a teenager Handler relocated to Los Angeles, California to explore a career in acting. Handler was a professional actress to assist her. However, when she was age 21, Handler decided to pursue stand-up comedy as a full-time profession since she discovered her storytelling abilities. Her career began as an actress in the cast that included all females in the Oxygen channel's reality television series Girls who behave poorly.
